Appeal and Revision

In law, an “appeal” is a request to a higher court to review a decision made by a lower court, typically challenging the legal correctness of the decision based on errors of law or fact, while a “revision” is a similar request to a higher court but with a broader scope, allowing the superior court to examine the legality and propriety of a lower court’s order, even if there wasn’t a significant legal error, but rather a procedural issue or improper application of law; essentially, an appeal is more focused on specific legal errors, while a revision can scrutinize the overall decision-making process of the lower court.
