Grama Sevaka (Change of Designation) Law A LAW TO MAKE SUCH AMENDMENTS IN WRITTEN LAW AS ARE CONSEQUENTIAL TO THE CHANGE OF DESIGNATION OF GRAMA SEVAKA AND GRAMA SEVAKA'S DIVISION. BE It enacted by the National State Assembly of the Republic of Sri Lanka as follows: - Short title and date of operation. 1. This Law may be cited as the Grama Sevaka (Change of Designation) Law, No. 5 of 1977, and shall come into operation on such date as may be appointed by the Minister by Order published in the Gazette, hereinafter referred to as the "appointed date ". Amendments in written law and documents consequential to the change of designation of Grama Sevaka and Grama Sevaka's Division. 2. With effect from the appointed date, in every context in which a Grama Sevaka or a Grama Sevaka's Division is mentioned in any written law other than the Village Headmen (Change of Designation) Act, No. 6 of 1964, or in any notice, communication, form or other document issued, made, required or authorized by or under any written law, there shall be substituted, for the words " Grama Sevaka " or " Grama Sevaka's Division ", the words "Grama Seva Niladhari " or " Grama Seva Niladhari's Division ", as the case may be.
