Introduction

Welcome to Lanka LAW, a legal technology platform operated by Chat2Find (Pvt) Limited. These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of the Lanka LAW website, platform, applications, and related services. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to comply with these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with these Terms, you should discontinue use of the Service immediately.

Electronic Agreements

By creating an account, subscribing to services, clicking acceptance buttons, or making payments electronically, you acknowledge and agree that legally binding agreements may be formed electronically under the laws of Sri Lanka, including the Electronic Transactions Act, No. 19 of 2006 (as amended).

Electronic notices, emails, and platform notifications issued by Chat2Find (Pvt) Limited shall be considered valid and effective once transmitted through the registered communication channels provided by the user.

Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least eighteen years of age and legally capable of entering into binding agreements to use the Service. Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of account credentials and for all activities carried out through their accounts.

Chat2Find (Pvt) Limited reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate user accounts where necessary to comply with legal obligations, regulatory requirements, security concerns, or breaches of these Terms.

Nature of the Service

Lanka LAW provides AI-assisted legal information services and legal research support tools. The Service may generate automated responses, search results, legal summaries, drafting suggestions, and related outputs for informational and productivity purposes only.

The Service does not constitute legal advice, legal representation, or professional legal opinion. Users are solely responsible for independently verifying legal information, legal authorities, case citations, and legal interpretations before relying on them in legal proceedings or professional work.

AI-generated outputs may contain inaccuracies, omissions, or outdated information. Users should consult qualified Attorneys-at-Law where professional legal advice is required.

Chat2Find (Pvt) Limited reserves the right to modify, suspend, update, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without prior notice.

Privacy and Data Protection

Chat2Find (Pvt) Limited processes personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act, No. 9 of 2022 and applicable Sri Lankan laws.

Personal data collected through the Service may be used for account management, platform functionality, customer support, security, analytics, billing, legal compliance, and service improvement purposes. Depending on the nature of the service provided, the company may act either as a data controller or data processor.

Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards are implemented to protect personal data from unauthorized access, misuse, disclosure, or destruction.

Private legal documents, confidential case information, and user-uploaded materials will not be used to train public artificial intelligence models unless the user expressly provides consent.

User Content

Users retain ownership of all documents, legal materials, case information, communications, and content submitted through the Service. By uploading or submitting content, users grant Chat2Find (Pvt) Limited a limited, non-exclusive license to process, host, store, and display such content solely for the purpose of operating and maintaining the Service.

The company will take reasonable measures to maintain the confidentiality of user content and restrict access to authorized personnel and contractors who are bound by confidentiality obligations.

Acceptable Use

Users agree to use the Service lawfully and responsibly. Users shall not attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems, interfere with platform security, upload malicious software, scrape or copy content in bulk, reverse engineer the platform, impersonate others, or use the Service for unlawful or fraudulent activities.

Users shall not represent AI-generated outputs as official court decisions, certified legal opinions, or authentic government-issued legal documents.

Chat2Find (Pvt) Limited may cooperate with law enforcement agencies, regulatory authorities, or court orders where required by applicable law.

Legal Sources and Coverage

Lanka LAW is not an official publisher of Sri Lankan Law Reports, Gazettes, judicial records, or state publications unless expressly stated. All trademarks, report titles, publication rights, and intellectual property relating to third-party legal publications remain the property of their respective owners.

Legal databases and materials available through the Service may evolve over time, and certain materials may be incomplete, amended, superseded, or unavailable. Users remain responsible for independently verifying all legal sources and authorities used in legal or professional contexts.

Subscriptions and Payments

The Service may offer free services, paid subscriptions, enterprise packages, and custom plans. Pricing may be displayed in Sri Lankan Rupees and may exclude applicable taxes, levies, VAT, or statutory charges imposed under Sri Lankan law.

By purchasing a subscription or service, users authorize Chat2Find (Pvt) Limited and its payment providers to charge the selected payment method for all applicable fees and taxes.

Unless otherwise required by law or expressly stated, subscription fees and payments are non-refundable. However, the company may issue credits or service adjustments at its discretion in cases involving prolonged service interruptions.

The company reserves the right to modify pricing, subscription features, and billing structures with reasonable notice.

Compliance

Chat2Find (Pvt) Limited may implement verification procedures, account reviews, payment monitoring, or restrictions where necessary to comply with anti-money laundering regulations, sanctions obligations, or other legal compliance requirements applicable in Sri Lanka.

Accounts or transactions may be suspended or terminated where suspicious, unlawful, or prohibited activities are identified.

Intellectual Property

All intellectual property associated with Lanka LAW, including software, source code, databases, AI systems, branding, logos, platform design, search structures, and related technology, are owned by or licensed to Chat2Find (Pvt) Limited and protected under Sri Lankan intellectual property laws.

Users are granted a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, and non-transferable license to use the Service for lawful internal purposes during an active subscription period.

Third-Party Services

The Service may integrate with third-party platforms, hosting providers, payment processors, analytics services, or external technologies. Such third-party services operate independently and are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

Chat2Find (Pvt) Limited is not responsible for the operations, security, availability, or practices of third-party services.

Security

Reasonable security measures are implemented to protect the platform and user information. However, no online system can guarantee complete security or uninterrupted operation.

Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their devices, passwords, and accounts and must notify the company immediately upon discovering unauthorized access or suspected security incidents.

Warranties and Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

Chat2Find (Pvt) Limited does not guarantee that the Service will always be accurate, uninterrupted, secure, complete, current, or free from errors. The company disclaims all implied warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and availability to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted under Sri Lankan law, Chat2Find (Pvt) Limited shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or economic losses arising from the use of the Service, including loss of data, business interruption, lost profits, or reliance on AI-generated content.

The total liability of the company for any claim relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount paid by the user to the company during the three months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.

Indemnity

Users agree to indemnify and hold harmless Chat2Find (Pvt) Limited, its directors, employees, affiliates, and contractors against claims, damages, liabilities, losses, or expenses arising from the user’s use of the Service, submitted content, violation of these Terms, or breach of applicable laws or third-party rights.

Suspension and Termination

Users may cancel subscriptions at any time, subject to the applicable billing cycle. Chat2Find (Pvt) Limited reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate access to the Service immediately for legal compliance, security concerns, non-payment, misuse, fraud, or material breaches of these Terms.

Upon termination, all rights granted to the user under these Terms shall immediately cease.

Data Retention

User data and content may be retained for operational, backup, audit, legal, compliance, and security purposes for a reasonable period following termination of services.

Where legally applicable, users may request deletion of personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act and the company’s Privacy Policy.

Amendments

Chat2Find (Pvt) Limited may revise or update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will become effective upon publication on the website or after notification to users.

Continued use of the Service following the effective date of revised Terms constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms and Conditions.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Sri Lanka.

Any disputes arising in connection with the Service or these Terms shall fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Colombo, Sri Lanka, unless otherwise agreed in writing between the parties.

Where specifically agreed under enterprise contracts or separate agreements, disputes may be resolved through arbitration conducted in Colombo, Sri Lanka in the English language.

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any applicable enterprise agreements or service orders, constitute the complete agreement between the user and Chat2Find (Pvt) Limited concerning the use of Lanka LAW and supersede any prior agreements, communications, or understandings relating to the Service.
